Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates Fellowship

This is a musculosketal spine and sports interventional fellowship led by Brad Goodman, M.D. and Srinivas Mallempati, M.D. Dr’s Goodman and Mallempati teach on a national level on spinal injections and msk ultrasound

Expertise will be gained in fluoroscopically guided spinal interventions. Procedures mastered include cervical, thoracic, and lumbar epidurals (interlaminar and transforaminal and caudal), facets, disc and sympathetic “blocks”. Other procedures performed include kypho/vertebroplasty , MILD (minimally invasive lumbar decompression) and surgical assistance with minimally invasive fusion. The group participates in leading phase 1,2, and 3 trials for various intradiscal biologic interventions.

Expertise will be gained in diagnostic and therapeutic msk ultrasound. Numerous injections are performed under ultrasound in the hip, shoulder and other extremity structures.

Other interventions and diagnostics include MRI imaging, electrodiagnostic studies, botox and xiaflex injections.
