About our Speaker:
Sam S. H. Wu, M.D. M.A. M.P.H. M.B.A. is Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Chief of Service for Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Health System. He is currently the Pediatric Rehabilitation Editor of PM&R Knowledge NOW, Editor of the forthcoming PM&R Secrets 4th Edition, and Editor-in-Chief of Physiatry Forward.
Dr. Wu has worked with the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations (UN), and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on issues relating to the rehabilitation of large populations. Dr. Wu’s advocacy efforts also include his service as the Treasurer and Member of the President’s Cabinet of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM), the North and South America Continental Director of the International Exchange Committee of ISPRM, President of the Board of Directors of the Center for the Independence of the Disabled in New York (CIDNY), President of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Stroke Council (DVSC), President of the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NYSPMR), Member of the Board of Directors of Foundation for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FPM&R), and Member of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). In these healthcare leadership roles, Dr. Wu has consistently advocated for persons with disability to have access to cost effective and high quality healthcare.
