About our Speaker:
Dr. Surendra Barshikar is an Associate Professor in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine. He is the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations for the department of PMR and serves as a Medical Director of ambulatory clinics at UTSW and Parkland hospital.
He specializes in brain injury medicine and has interest in neurorehabilitation, spasticity management and taking care of patients with concussion and other brain injuries. He is also the director of the COVID Recover program at UTSW which sees patients with PASC. He is involved in the AAPMR Long COVID Collaborative and serves as a expert on the CDC funded Long COVID ECHO program. Along with clinical care and administrative role, he is actively involved in teaching and research activities and has multiple ongoing projects.
