Target Audience: | This course is focusing on Billing and Coding relevant to the field of PM&R. It is designed for Attending Physicians, Fellows and Residents. Students are welcome. |
Guest Speaker: | Marisa Lanzolla, MS, CPC, CHC Marisa has over 15 years’ experience in healthcare finance: specialties include auditing/coding/billing compliance, and training physicians on proper documentation/coding to ensure revenue enhancement and integrity. Prior to starting her own consulting firm in 2007, Marisa worked as Charge Description Master Coordinator for Yale New Haven Health System, Billing and Charge Description Master Manager for Greenwich Hospital as well as Billing Compliance Manager at Montefiore Medical Center. Course Objectives: | This will be an interactive session where the audience will have the chance to ask questions and learn about billing and coding fundamentals, how to avoid inefficient/incorrect information entries, documentation elements required for a certain billing level, major changes with the new ICD-10, as well as some general compensation figures for consultation/ follow up notes/ common procedures (ultrasound procedures/ office based injection procedures/ EMG/NCS, etc). |
