New York Society of PM&R, in conjunction with Konica Minolta Healthcare, is conducting a shoulder ultrasound workshop designed to teach physicians the application of musculoskeletal ultrasound for the shoulder.

Target Audience: This is a hands-on musculoskeletal ultrasound course (MSK-US) focusing on scanning and injection techniques. It is designed for beginner to intermediate level attending physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students. The workshop will review basics of shoulder ultrasound while incorporating more advanced scanning concepts and techniques.
Objectives: The workshop objectives include (1) To review the technical features of the ultrasound machine and how to set up a shoulder study, (2) Learn what normal and abnormal shoulder structures look like under MSK-US including joints, tendons, ligaments and bones, and (3) Obtain hands-on scanning practice and learn standardized scanning protocols.
Course Agenda:
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Registration
- 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM: Lecture with live demonstration and hands-on practice including US anatomy and findings of common pathologies. Participants will be divided in groups with 1:1 hands-on training time with preceptors.
- 11:45 PM – 12:00 PM: Wrap-up/Discussion
